Peace and War

i believe that the kids in the future won't know what peace is. its going to be something that they will learn about but probably never experience firsthand. if we had equal parts of peace and war information more people would probably be aware of what's happening and how bad it is out there but unfortunately like my one friend pointed out, "peace movies are boring to most people and even if we don't like it war is more interesting to watch". this statement is sad but unfortunately true, probably 9 out of 10 people would watch a war movie first. if people don't do something soon the concept of peace will be forever lost. :(

  1. I wonder if young people can separate the idea of a violent movie as entertainment and violence in real life around the globe, nationally, or even locally. Perhaps it is something in our nature that is voyeuristic, enjoying the adrenaline rush of action. However, I also wonder if the level of excitement it takes to motivate us is now at an all time high. Peace can be pretty low key if your concept of peace is a movie in which nothing happens, as opposed to a movie in which people struggle for it, personally or as a nation. One only needs to ask teens who have lived in a war zone, like in Bosnia years ago, whether peace is sweeter than conflict.
